Kelsie needs some Orbit

Kelsie LOVES to play outside which I've mentioned before. It's almost always enjoyable for everyone involved.

Here is Kelsie on the tire swing at her Great-Grandparents house in St. Louis being as cute as ever
And playing outside at home with some water

Sometimes though, Kelsie just likes to keep me on my toes. Like when we went to the park last week with some friends and I had to take something similar to this out of Kelsie's mouth.

I kind of wondered when this stage of putting everything in your mouth ends and made the comment that apparently I need to be watching her a little more closely. My friend nicely responded that sometimes kids have to learn by doing and she would probably never put a stick in her mouth again ;-)

I liked that theory and was starting to think that maybe it was true until a few days later Kelsie put two, yes two, hand fulls of dirt in her mouth. We rinsed her off but as she was running away from the faucet she fell right in the pile of dirt and started whimpering.

I was beginning to wonder why she was upset as she had done the same thing just a few minutes earlier and it didn't phase her. Then she turned around.
And I saw this.
Wet face + big pile of dirt = unhappy baby (and another mouth full of dirt)

Poor Kelsie! I am glad Ethan puts less and less in his mouth, but I definitely have to watch him...he's into eating rocks these days.

Love the tire swing picture. Very, very cute!

The blog starts so cute and ends so sad! But she's still cute, even with dirt all over her face. Btw, I don't know how you moms do it (as in, keep your babies away from all the bad stuff in the world!).
