A trip to the safari - Not me style

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

Josh, Kelsie, & I took a little trip to the Gentry Safari this weekend and I am happy to say it was more fun than we had anticipated, or at least more than Josh had. I mean he would never doubt my adventure planning.

We went to go see the kangaroos first and being the responsible, over protective mother that I am, I most certainly did not stand by and take pictures while my husband pet a kangaroo and held our daughter at the same time.

No way would I have ever let her actually pet one herself.

And while I was not even for one second taking my eyes off my daughter, I didn't stop to count the legs on this kangaroo several times only to realize it must have been taking advantage of it's baby carrier ;-)

Then, continuing in my responsible ways, I would have never taken Kelsie into a cage with Tiger cubs. That would be foolish of me, and there is no way I would pet one, or let Kelsie either. That is far too dangerous for my liking.

And, since I knew that we were going to be walking, and be around animals, I obviously would have never put Kelsie and myself in flip flops. I think ahead and always dress appropriately for the situation, never in shoes that could easily fall off and ruin the picture that Josh was trying to take of the tiger cub.

In addition to the animals that you could get up close and personal with, there was a drive thru section at the safari. Of course we obeyed the signs to keep your windows up at ALL times, I never break rules, or encourage Josh to just so we can get a better picture of a peacock.

Josh, being the loving, caring husband that he is, would never try to scare me and repeatedly roll down my window just a little while this creepy bird was standing right outside of it. He definitely does not like to ever get me worked up, besides it takes so much ;-)

I also never would break the law and let Kelsie ride in my lap just so that she could get a better view of the animals.

If by chance I was feeling a little out of the ordinary to do something so ridiculous as let Kelsie not ride in her car seat I would definitely not let her ride on Josh's lap while he was driving just because the baby zebra was on his side and I thought she might like it.

**Note: If by chance I were to decide to do something unheard of in our family and let Kelsie ride in front since we were going approximately 5 mph, I would positively not admit to it on my blog with pictures and all.

Oh and today while playing with our sand and water table I most definitely did not let Kelsie repeatedly shovel sand to the water side of the table just because it kept her happy and entertained.

So did she like it? I'm glad you guys got to go! I laughed a lot at Josh rolling down the window with that bird beside you...those things are SERIOUSLY creepy and the place is full of them! Someone needs to tell the owners to stick with baby tiger cubs and cute kangaroos.
