It's the small things

Kelsie has taught me a lot of things. Some out of necessity - namely patience which I still have a lot of room for growth, and some from watching her.

She reminds me quite often how much fun life can be if you simply enjoy the small things. Almost anything can bring a smile out in her from ear to ear, and her joy is contagious. I love that you never know what will be the next source of happiness for her. It can be a card in the mail, to getting to help mom cook, to learning how to do something new.

This morning it was a ball that her Grandma (aka Granny - thanks to Grandpa) brought down to her while I did some cooking this weekend. We had put it away and Kelsie had already forgotten she had it so I got it out and threw it to her.

We played catch for awhile, kicked it, and Kelsie pretended to be a dog and "fetched" it - one of her many favorite pastimes. Then she just kept getting excited and hugging the ball exclaiming "best ball ever" and then giving it a kiss. It was hilarious and adorable at the same time.

It's all about the small things ;-)
