My mom made it down safely and was there when Kelsie and Josh got there. Kelsie was really confused with the whole situation. Where am I? Why are mom and Grandma both here? Why is my mom holding a baby? Why do they want be to be so excited about the baby? Just a few of the million things that were probably going through her head. She warmed up to her a little more the next day when she came back.
My Dad was able to come down on Saturday too and baptized Karissa.
I was in the smallest labor room they had and there wasn't anywhere for Josh to sleep so I stayed by myself and was VERY anxious to get home. We had to stay until in the hospital until Sunday afternoon and Josh's family was able to come down and were there when we got home from the hospital. Kelsie was really excited about Karissa when we got home. Josh's family left Tuesday morning and Josh was planning on going back to work Wednesday. Tuesday during the day they were talking about a big snowstorm that was probably going to miss us completely. When we went to bed they said we may get up to 2-4 inches of snow. When we woke up they said 2 feet.
WHAT? It was then I realized that Karissa came at the perfect time and I'm planning on summer babies from here on out ;-) Josh actually got two extra days off because pretty much everything in NWA was closed and the roads were practically impassable. The days were filled with shoveling snow, building forts, admiring what 22in of snow looked like,
and enjoying the newest member of our family
(Tomorrow, I'll post why I decided to labor naturally and I promise I'll be finished ;-)
