I have a gift of making short stories long. Related to my talent of making long stories unbearably so, which is why I will spare you of the details of my recent DMV trip. (I actually started writing a post and wasn't even half way through with my trip and I had already typed a page or more - you can thank me later for deleting it.)
Oh no, I'm doing it again - back to the purpose of this post. We bought a car recently and did not take out a loan, and it was a lot harder than if we had. Not less paperwork, not less hassle, not less questions like it should have been - it was the opposite.
Today I went to go do what it is has to be done after purchasing a new vehicle, making the dreaded trip to the DMV. After over an hour there, lots of confusion, missing paperwork that was sent to an unknown office/number (which happened to be the cubicle across from the one who needed it first) we made it out alive, with both children - melt down free I might add, not a small feat. It was ridiculous how impossible it is, how many stops have to be made, how many fees must be paid. This is the least of the problems facing our government but it represents so much. We desperately need a makeover of our government from bottom to top and back again because it is clear in so many areas that it is not working.
I've realized not much in life is easy but it doesn't have to be that hard.
