Happy Birthday

I officially have a 3 year old.

You know, compared to a couple weeks ago when I had an owl and a ladybug.

And now, I have a 3 year old. Who seriously enjoyed her birthday.

All six of them.

She was barely 2 the last time that she got a present so doesn't really remember it and this was definitely the first time she realized it was all about her. And she definitely soaked it in. Birthday hats, cupcakes, and all.

When I asked Kelsie who she thought was going to get her presents for her birthday, she replied "the mailman." A result of Amazon and out of town relatives. She loved every present and all the pictures, especially when she got to take them.
Unfortunately, after lots of pictures, her "cheese" face turned into this.

We should probably work on that. In addition to presents and birthdays, Kelsie also has been enjoying rock candy and visits from "pa and granny" and getting to see any and all of her extended family.
She loves "Mrs. Joy" from the library and has recently started finding something to ask her everytime even though we already know the answer.

Kelsie also adores being a "big sister" and this is a daily occurrence around here with lots of jumping and giggling included.
She loves books, singing, helping me or doing anything and everything by herself, playing chase (usually involving someone as a lion or a wolf) friends and kids in general, owls, tv, candy, etc. The list of Kelsie's loves goes on and on, she gets very excited about a lot of things and loves to be affectionate. Despite her overall enjoyable demeanor she also can get pretty upset, and has her tantrums down pretty well, mostly when she doesn't get to do something herself or the way she wants to. She is still working on teaching me patience by generally going as slow as possibly in any and all parts of life.

Her speech is definitely exploding and she throws out new words what seems like every day. Starting at the beginning of October she started going to speech twice/week and has also been showing improvement on her articulation. We're hoping this continues despite the switch in therapy. At the age of 3, what is available through the state changes and doesn't have as good of reviews but we are going to give it a shot.

We're going to go to a check up in the next month or 2 and see where she is with her height and weight. I'm guessing somewhere in the middle but some 3T clothes are starting to get too small/short so Josh is still holding out hope that she'll be tall ;-)
